Hollenderbyen

In the 15-, 16- and 1700s many dutch people settled down in Flekkefjord and earned a living through trading oak timber, granite and lobster. The need for commodities in their home country was huge. To this day, Flekkefjord oak and huge amounts of granite that supports the city of Amsterdam. The dutch people have also put their mark on Flekkefjord, which is also called dutch city.

Small town charm

Take a stroll through one of Southern Norway's best-preserved wooden buildings and experience the fascinating history from the 16th to the 1700s through a marked cultural trail with info signs. Maps for the cultural trail can be found at the tourist office or downloaded from the pages of Smaabyen Flekkefjord.
