In the 15-, 16- and 1700s many dutch people settled down in Flekkefjord and earned a living through trading oak timber, granite and lobster. The need for commodities in their home country was huge. To this day, Flekkefjord oak and huge amounts of granite that supports the city of Amsterdam. The dutch people have also put their mark on Flekkefjord, which is also called dutch city.
